Holding Pattern was deinstalled on Tuesday. While Interboro was sad to take down the canopy and pack up the furniture, we took comfort in the fact that Tuesday was as much a beginning as it was an end for Holding Pattern, which was based on the idea that we could design things that would be needed by businesses in the neighborhood. Tuesday’s deinstall was thus also the install for phase two of the project. Despite the heavy rain, it was fun to see the ballet mirrors, rock-climbing wall, lifeguard chair, benches, picnic tables, sandboxes, trees, and all of the other elements in their new homes around the neighborhood. Special thanks to Interboro photographer Rachael London for coming around with us to document the process. Stay tuned for more pictures of the furniture in action, and, come early November, pictures of the delivery and installation of Holding Pattern’s 84 trees!
